Ground
Water Remediation Control System A
ground water remediation system was designed and developed to extract ground water from 30
feet underground from 10 wells distributed around an (Osmose Wood Preserving, Inc.)
plant site. The system controlled and monitored the flow of the ground water as the first
stage in a chemical extraction process. The system keeps running tally of current flow
rates, accumulations, pump activation times and error causing conditions. This data is
displayed through a data base interface and can be exported to excel for manipulation.
This is the first system designed specifically for real time management and complete
control of ground water extraction.
Calibration System for Environmental Chambers
ACS developed a small radiation calibration
device that allows the user to calibrate instruments within a 100% controlled environment.
This system can accept various strength nuclear sources, so as to achieve a wide range of
calibration points. This device will withstand extreme temperatures and pressures to give
complete flexibility to the operator. This is the first system designed specifically to
fit within an enclosed environmental chamber and allows the laboratory increased
flexibility in the calibration of instruments.
Client Server Development with ORACLE, VISUAL BASIC, and Windows NT
In conjunction with a gasoline retailer, ACS helped develop and implement an automated logistics system for purchasing fuel at the lowest price, dispatching new loads, pricing the product, and analyzing sales. The project involved sophisticated integer programming routines and involved the development of a corporate data model in ORACLE for use by the Visual Basic programs that implemented the ideas. It also involved using Windows NT in a LAN and WAN environment.Quality Control Based Gauging Systems
Presently working with copier industry, developing a continuous statistical process control check of deviations in cylindrical drums. The check will hold tolerances of 0.0001", and stop deviations from acceptable standards at an early stage. To meet the tolerances needed linear variable differential transformers are used in conjunction with statistical analysis software to analyze the product. After the analysis, the software passes information to the appropriate I/O concerning pass or fail criteria. The overall process will reduce scrap and rework cost considerably.Network System Monitor
Implemented software to monitor computer (multiple network) functionality, and detect problems with individual nodes before they cause system problems. System is slated to be in use in 1995 by Hewlett PackardDetail Cost Pricing System and Network Enhancement
Enhanced and update pricing system to streamlined pricing, help monitor competition, and to monitor sales and pricing histories. System was implemented on a corporate level for structuring individual outlet stores and is used to tune sales on an individual store or geographical area. Also, modified Pentium based network system to enhance throughput of data and decrease system maintenance on server and network. The network is a 50 user based system.
